A Burke man who police say was practicing medicine without a valid license has been charged with inappropriately touching a patient, Fairfax County police said. Detectives from the police departments sex crimes unit began investigating the practices of HIBP Medical Services, at 6911 Richmond Highway, earlier this summer, Fairfax County police said in a news release Friday. The detectives learned that volunteer at the practice was apparently conducting medical examinations and allegedly touched a patient inappropriately on Thursday, June 23, police said in the news release. The volunteer was identified as Fabio Suarez Valderrama, 54, of Burke. Police said Suarez Valderrama was reportedly a licensed doctor in Columbia, but does not have a medical license in the United States. Police obtained a warrant Aug. 17 charging Suarez Valderrama with sexual battery and he turned himself to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, police said. Major Crimes detectives believe there are other victims and ask anyone with information or who experienced a similar incident with Suarez Valderrama to contact Detective J.
